Looks like there won't be any more fighting for the armrest inbetween as appears to be a pair per seat.....
Interesting news, VK.
What must also be mentioned is that OS will overhaul its catering offer at the same time.
In addition these slimmer seats will enable OS to accommodate more passengers on its flights.
So when an A319 is retrofitted it will now carry 138 passengers as against 132 today. An A320 will hold 168 (159) while a B737-600 will be able to carry 126 (111).
I suspect this new generation of economy class seating is what Lufthansa will use when it retrofits its European fleet.
I remember reading a piece here on this subject:
http://www.businesstraveller.com/news/lufthansa-plans-new-business-class-for-2011
As posted elsewhere, perhaps this is also the seat the bmi will use in short haul economy
http://www.businesstraveller.com/discussion/topic/New-bmi-mid-haul-cabin
If it is the case, then on short haul on the A320-200 where bmi currently seats 156 in an all-economy configuration this will rise to 168.
