So a little postscript to my comments on the DAT thread about Aurigny and their Avantiair/Luxwings wet leases.
Last night a plane overshot the runway on landing at Guernsey from LGW closing the airport and triggering an emergency which was stood down.
It was reported on BBC as an Aurigny flight but other media are reporting this as a flight operated under a Luxwings wet lease.
I don’t know what is going on at Aurigny these days but the local paper also reported that Aurigny has terminated a lease with Eastern Airways (failed to deliver) plus the Titan A320 being used can only operate with reduced capacity.
Guernsey has a short runway, so I wonder what knowledge is required. Either way it would not be the age of the airframe that troubled me….
