Royal Jordanian and Air Berlin seal codeshare

Royal Jordanian and Air Berlin have sealed a codeshare agreement, the German carrier's first with an Arab airline, which swings into effect November 1.
The German airline's passengers will now be able to travel to Amman from Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich and Vienna, while in return, Royal Jordanian passengers can book flights featuring RJ flight numbers on a number of German and European airberlin routes.
Royal Jordanian started three-a-week direct services between Amman and Berlin, its third route to Germany, in June (click here).
"Passengers flying Royal Jordanian will benefit from the co-operation in that selected destinations in Germany, Austria and Poland can, for the first time, be reached under a flight number shared with airberlin. Furthermore, this co-operation allows airberlin to further expand its presence in the Middle East," said Paul Gregorowitsch, Chief Commercial Officer Air Berlin.
The agreement is a logical development, given Air Berlin is set to join Royal Jordanian in the Oneworld alliance from the beginning of 2012 (click here), and it follows airberlin forming a codeshare agreement with British Airways in July (click here).
