    Wanted to share a poor experience from yesterday.
    After arriving into YUL I booked an Uber
    The booking was accepted and the driver messaged me “where you go”
    I advised that I had put the address into the booking.
    I noticed the vehicle had stopped moving 500 meters from me.
    After a couple of minutes I messaged to ask if he was coming.
    The reply was no I cancel.
    He hadn’t actually cancelled the trip which left me unable to rebook
    I then messaged you havent cancelled to which he replied “I’m not coming you cancel”
    I said no I wont because if I do I will get charged.
    Suddenly the booking was cancelled and Uber reallocated another car.
    When it arrived the driver pulled up and as I stepped towards the vehicle he drove off and I was advised the driver had cancelled.
    Is this a common experience?
    I tried to complain to Uber but got a chatbot advising that I had not been charged.
