Jet2 has confirmed plans to launch flights between Manchester and Porto from early July, a year earlier than originally intended.

In November the low-cost carrier announced Porto as a new destination for summer 2025, with routes from both Birmingham and Manchester.

But Jet2 said that “on the back of huge demand for city breaks and flights” the Manchester-Porto service would now operate between 4 July and 3 November, with twice-weekly flights on Thursday and Sundays.

Jet2 will join easyJet and Ryanair on the route, both of which offer year-round flights between the two cities.

The Birmingham-Porto route remains scheduled to launch on 25 March, 2025.

Jet2 recently announced plans to launch flights to Morocco from six UK airports starting in winter 2024, including routes from Birmingham and Manchester to both Marrakech and Agadir.
