Twickenham Stadium has announced that the Marriott hotel integrated within its South Stand is to be reflagged under the Radisson RED brand.

I reported on the opening of the London Marriott Hotel Twickenham back in 2009, which features 156 rooms including six suites with views of the pitch.

Aimbridge Hospitality will take over as operator of the property from 1 April, with the hotel remaining open while a refurbishment programme is carried out ahead of the rebranding later this year.

The Radisson RED brand launched in Brussels in 2016, and has since added several UK properties in locations including Glasgow and Liverpool, with a forthcoming hotel close to Edinburgh airport.

In 2020 the former Park Inn Heathrow split into two hotels, including the 258-room Radisson RED London Heathrow. For our Tried and Tested review of this property, see:

Located around six miles from Heathrow airport, Twickenham Stadium is owned by the Rugby Football Union, and is home to the England national rugby union team.

Commenting on the news Adela Cristea, vice president business development UK and Ireland at Radisson Hotel Group, said:

“The signing of Radisson RED with the Rugby Football Union is an incredibly important milestone as we continue to grow both the Radisson RED brand and our wider brand portfolio across the UK.

“Since Radisson RED debuted over five years ago in the UK, we have seen exponential growth with multi-award-winning properties in Glasgow and Liverpool, as well London and have upcoming openings in Huddersfield and Edinburgh, in 2025 and 2026, respectively.

“Radisson RED is a very relevant brand for today’s guests and owners as it taps into the creative traveller’s mindset with its twist on the conventional hotel by incorporating art, music, fashion, and design, and we are expecting to see further strong, dynamic growth over the coming years.”
