Lufthansa services are set for more disruption this week, with strikes taking place at Frankfurt and Munich airports.

The UFO union has called on cabin crew to walk out at Frankfurt Airport tomorrow (Tuesday 12 March) and at Munich Airport on Wednesday 13 March.

This page on the Lufthansa website states that “As a result, the airline will have to adjust its flight programme on both days”, without giving further details.

“Guests whose flights are affected by the UFO strike are currently being rebooked. This process has the highest priority for us and is still ongoing. We therefore ask for your patience.”

The page also notes the nationwide strike taking place by the train drivers’ union GDL tomorrow, which will result in services being “completely cancelled throughout Germany”.

Last month Lufthansa flights were severely impacted by a 35-hour warning strike called by the Verdi trade union and affecting ground staff employed by Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Lufthansa Technik and Lufthansa Cargo.

The latest industrial action comes as parent company Lufthansa Group recently posted an operating profit of €2.7 billion for 2023 – the third-best financial result in the group’s history (behind 2017 and 2018).
