Leonardo Hotels has opened the first Irish property under its boutique brand NYX hotels.

NYX Hotel Dublin overlooks the Grand Canal at Portobello Harbour in south Dublin, and features 175 rooms with White Company toiletries, mini-fridge, Nespresso machine and 50-inch TV with Chromecast.

Facilities include a ground floor lobby, restaurant, bar and fitness centre, and the hotel features bespoke artwork from Irish artists including Shane Sutton, Janine Jordon and Art Loves.

NYX is named after the Greek goddess of the night, and currently has a portfolio of around a dozen properties in locations including Madrid, Milan, Prague, Tel Aviv and Warsaw.

Forthcoming destinations include Nicosia in Cyprus and Thessaloniki in Greece.

The brand also debuted in London in 2021, with a rebranding of the Grange Holborn Hotel.

UK’s first NYX hotel to open in London

In the UK and Ireland NYX is operated by Leonardo Hotels, which in turn is owned by a subsidiary of Israel’s Fattal Hotels Group.

In 2022 it was announced that Leonardo Hotels would take over the branding of its sister Jurys Inn properties, as part of plans to grow the Leonardo brand in the UK and Ireland.

The group opened a 275-room hotel close to Manchester’s Piccadilly Station in April last year.
