Easyhotel has announced plans to open a property in the Spanish southeastern city of Valencia.

The hotel will be located on Placa de Rojas Clemente, close to a metro station and around a 15-minute walk from the city’s AVE rail station.

The property is expected to open in 2024, and will feature 95 rooms, a breakfast area and customer parking.

Easyhotel currently has a portfolio of 43 properties in 34 cities across 11 countries, and has a target of reaching 100 hotels by 2026.

The group operates a hybrid approach, with 27 of its current hotels (2,300 rooms) franchised, and the other 16 (2,000 rooms) owned.

There are currently two Easyhotels in the Spanish destinations of Barcelona and Malaga, with a third property set to open in the capital Madrid later this year, and a second Barcelona hotel also under development.

Javier Oroz, director of hotels at Savills Spain – which advised on the sale of the Valencia site to  Easyhotel, said:

“Valencia’s hotel industry, which has traditionally been dominated by national and domestic players, is increasingly appealing to international market participants. In the upcoming years, we expect a significant improvement in hotel supply.

“This will be driven by the development of new projects, as well as repositioning of existing ones. Easyhotel’s expansion into the area is a prime example of this, and it is a brilliant candidate to showcase the benefits to domestic and international travellers.

“High entry barriers in Ciutat Vella district – due to the hotel licenses moratorium – will foster the expansion of hotel supply in other areas with great potential, such as Valencia’s marina.”
