Radisson Hotel Group has debuted its Radisson Individuals brand in Italy with the opening of two properties in Sicily and Piedmont.

Borgo di Luce, Monasteri Golf Resort and Spa is located just outside of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Syracuse in southern Sicily. It occupies a historic villa with a thousand-year history, initially built as a Benedictine monastery. The hotel has undergone a renovation and now comprises three buildings surrounded by green citrus groves, palm trees, carob trees and olive trees.

The hotel’s 102 rooms all feature individual ground-floor entrances overlooking the gardens, golf course or interior patios of the ancient monastery, and the majority include private verandas.

The resort also has an 18-hole par 71 golf course designed by Studio Mazzacane, and a 300 sqm spa named after the local flower Zagara, with five treatment rooms and a fully equipped gym.

Meanwhile, the hotel restaurant offers indoor and alfresco dining with local recipes featuring seasonal ingredients and matched with Sicilian wines. A lobby bar also offers drinks, while a pool bar is open for cocktails and ice cream in the summer months.

The group has also opened a property in the Piedmont region of Italy.

Alagna Mountain Resort and Spa is located in the Alagna Valsesia mountain resort at the foot of the Monte Rosa – the second highest mountain in the Alps and Western Europe. The hotel offers easy access to Alagna’s ski lifts, as well as cross country ski and snow-shoehiking trails during the winter. In the summer months, activities on offer include mountain climbing, biking and river sports on the Sesia river.

The 49 suites are designed in a traditional “Walser” chalet style, with rooms offering mezzanines and private balconies. The hotel also features a spa with a range of after-sports treatments and facilities including ice waterfalls, a sauna, a Turkish bath, massage cabins, jacuzzis and a heated indoor and outdoor pool with views of the surrounding mountains.

The hotel’s Corno Bianco restaurant serves dishes featuring local products from the Valsesia valley and surrounding Piedmont region, while the Im Land pub serves small plates and snacks during the winter season along with live music or karaoke for after-dinner entertainment.

Yilmaz Yildirimlar, Area Senior Vice President, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Turkey at Radisson Hotel Group, said:

“We are very excited to welcome our Radisson Individuals brand to Italy with two unique and stunning properties. The Radisson Individuals brand responds to the evolving demands of new market realities for both hotel owners and guests, and it is the perfect addition to our portfolio as we continue expanding our footprint in Italy. These two new properties create an opportunity for guests to discover the beautiful Italian regions of Sicily and Piedmont while experiencing our high standards of Yes I Can! service and hospitality.”

Radisson Individuals launched last year as a conversion brand aimed at encouraging independent hotels and local, regional chains to join the group’s platform. The first hotel to join the brand was Henrietta House in Bath, and the brand has since signed properties in locations including Estonia, IndiaFlorida, Serbia, Scotland and Saudi Arabia.
