Radisson Hotel Group has signed its first property under the Radisson Individuals brand in Scotland.

The River Ness Hotel is located on the banks of the eponymous river in Inverness and is set to open in the third quarter of this year. The hotel will comprise 76 rooms, a bistro, bar and gym. Rooms will feature authentic Scottish design, with dark wooden floors and walls, and modern marble bathrooms.

Nearby attractions will include the Inverness Cathedral, Inverness Castle, as well as the Old High Church and Inverness Museum. The Loch Ness Lake is also less than 20km from the hotel, and there are various whiskey distilleries in the vicinity. In terms of transport, the hotel is located within 200 metres of Inverness’ Main Train Station and 13km from Inverness airport.

Radisson Individuals launched last year as a conversion brand aimed at encouraging independent hotels and local, regional chains to join the group’s platform. The brand recently debuted in the Baltics with the opening of the Palace Hotel Tallinn.

The first hotel to join the brand was Henrietta House in Bath, and it was recently reported that Earl Heights Suites Hotel in Ghana has also been signed to the collection. The brand also debuted in the Americas last month with the reflagging of the Tryp by Wyndham Sebastian Hotel.

Adela Cristea, Vice President, Head of Business Development UK and Ireland, Radisson Hotel Group, said:

“We are thrilled to announce our first Radisson Individuals signing in Scotland, which will further strengthen our position as the leading international hotel group in the region. With this signing, we are expanding our UK & Ireland portfolio to 66 hotels and more than 15,000 rooms open and under development. We are very pleased to continue our fruitful collaboration with Axcel Group and we thank them for their support.”
