Adagio will open its long-awaited London Stratford property later this month, marking the sixth UK aparthotel for the brand.

Plans for the Aparthotel Adagio London Stratford – located on Celebration Avenue north of Stratford International station and Westfield Stratford City shopping centre – were first unveiled back in 2014.

The property will now open for key workers and essential stays on April 12, followed by all guests from May 17 (in line with the current roadmap for the end of Covid-19 restrictions).

The aparthotel will offer 100 two-person studios and 36 flats designed to accommodate up to four people, all with fully equipped kitchens.

The flagship property will also feature the brand’s new ‘Facelift’ concept, which “aims to create a contemporary and functional design”, along with a new Digital Room Directory service, where “all customer needs and enquiries can be answered by scanning a QR Code, meaning no more paper”.

Other signature brand facilities include The Circle co-working, living and cooking space, as well as a gym, onsite shop and a ‘Library of Things’, from which guests can borrow items to furnish their apartments.

A joint venture between Accor and the Pierre and Vacances Center Parcs Group, Aparthotels Adagio plans to double its portfolio by 2023, including a 162-apartment property in Glasgow’s Saint Enoch.

Adagio is also set to open a 59-apartment property close to London’s Sutton station this summer.

Commenting on the opening Karim Malak, managing director of Adagio, said:

“Stratford is fast becoming one of the UK’s most exciting and dynamic metropolitan districts, having undergone an extensive regeneration on an extraordinary scale over the last 10+ years.

“We are so excited to be opening our second London property in such a vibrant and diverse area and hope this demonstrates our commitment to growing & expanding our brand within Great Britain, with lots more UK openings on the horizon.”
