Aparthotels provider Adagio has announced plans to double its portfolio, aiming to have 220 properties worldwide by 2023.

The brand currently has 105 aparthotels, which is set to grow to 116 by the end of this year. Its portfolio totals over 13,000 apartments in 12 countries across Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Russia.

UK locations include Liverpool, Birmingham and Edinburgh. The first Adagio Aparthotel opened in London’s Brentford earlier this year, and it is set to launch a property in Leicester.

The brand also recently opened properties in France and Casablanca, Morocco. This summer will see two further openings in Paris and one in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Properties signed and under construction include Brussels, Kiel, London, Suresnes, Zurich, Glasgow, Dubai, Freigburg, Bucharest, and Sochi.

Adagio is a joint venture between Accor and Pierre and Vacances Center Parcs Group.

Thomas Lamson, the brand’s Chief Development and Projects Officer, commented: “2019 marks a major turning point for Adagio. Beyond the many openings scheduled, we plan to sign more than twenty new contracts worldwide this year.

“These new signings are regardless of the management mode, whether they’re lease, management or franchise”

Adagio recently unveiled a guest experience concept called “The Circle” at six of its properties.
