Accor has opened a flagship Novotel property next to Hamburg’s main railway station.

The 227-room Novotel Hamburg Central Station features an open lobby concept with co-working spaces, relaxation zones, the Swedish-inspired MYSA Eatery, and MYSA Bar and Lounge.

Rooms feature the Sundukovy Sisters concept – one of four designs for Novotel properties unveiled by Accor in 2021 – with facilities including Nespresso coffee machines, and rain showers with Rituals bathroom amenities.

The hotel also offers a fitness centre, and five meeting spaces.

Hamburg Central Railway Station or Hamburg Hauptbahnhof is Germany’s busiest rail station and the second-busiest in Europe after Paris Gare du Nord, with more than half a million passengers passing through the station each day.

Novotel Hamburg Central Station is the first of three Accor hotels set to open in Hamburg this year, the other two being ibis Styles HafenCity and Novotel Hamburg HafenCity. This follows the closure of the group’s Sofitel Hamburg Alter Wall in 2021.

Commenting on the news Erwin van der Graaf, vice president operations managed hotels Benelux and DACH at Accor, said:

“By founding the first Novotel in Lille more than 55 years ago, Accor laid the foundations for its success story. Today, Novotel offers destination hotels designed as comforting and energising places.

“We want our guests to ‘press pause’ and take time to enjoy the moments that really matter. This philosophy is perfectly reflected in our new Novotel Hamburg Central Station, our latest Novotel flagship in Hamburg and the region.”
