Hard Rock Hotels will open the second hotel under its fledgling REVERB brand this spring.

REVERB Hamburg is scheduled to open in April in the city’s St Pauli district, as an extension to the St Pauli Bunker.

In recent years the former World War II anti-aircraft bunker has hosted night clubs, a large music store and office space for artists and musicians.

NH Hotel Group had previously announced plans to open a hotel under its nhow offering on the top of the bunker, but this honour will now fall to Hard Rock’s REVERB brand.

Features will include 134 rooms, a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, Rock Shop and rooftop garden, and three additional culinary outlets are also planned for the development: Sala restaurant offering daily live entertainment; international fusion restaurant Karo & Paul; and pop-up rooftop concept The Green Beanie.

Hard Rock Hotels launched the REVERB brand in late 2020, which it says is designed to be “an energetic cultural hub for connection, creation and inspiration among music fans, locals, and travellers alike”.

The first property opened next to Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and hotels are also under development in Tampa and Miami.

Commenting on the news Marek N. Riegger, CEO of the RIMC Hotels & Resorts Group (the main lessee of the Bunker), said:

“The Bunker has been a project close to our hearts from the very beginning as a Hamburg-based family business and can hardly be compared with any other hotel and culinary project. We are delighted that we are now entering the final stage and will soon welcome our first guests.

“The hotel concept of REVERB by Hard Rock, the wide range of culinary options, together with the unique location and the breath-taking view of the Hanseatic city, make a visit to the bunker an unforgettable experience.”
