Hilton has announced plans to add its first Conrad Hotels and Resorts property in Germany.
The former Park Hyatt Hamburg, which closed earlier this month, is set to be refurbished and rebranded as the Conrad Hamburg, with an opening date of 2024.
The hotel is housed within the city’s historic Levantehaus building on Monckebergstrasse, which was built in 1912 as an office, and was converted into a shopping arcade in 1997.
When the property reopens as the Conrad Hamburg it will offer 238 rooms including 25 suites and 32 residential suites, as well as a lounge bar and restaurant, a wellness centre with spa, fitness centre and pool, and nine meeting rooms.
Conrad Hamburg will join 15 properties currently operating or under development under the luxury brand in the EMEA region, including the recently opened Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia and Conrad Rabat Arzana.
Commenting on the news Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton, said:
“As the country’s second largest city and a prominent business and leisure destination, we’re delighted to be bringing the Conrad Hotels and Resorts brand to the city of Hamburg.
“With growing international demand for high quality luxury accommodation, we look forward to working with MHP to broaden Hilton’s offering in Hamburg and Germany, with 56 hotels currently trading or under development.”
