Finnair has announced plans to further roll out its new premium economy and business class cabins this summer.

The flag carrier launched its innovative new business class seat in early 2022, alongside the airline’s first premium economy cabin.

The seats are being fitted across Finnair’s fleet of A350 and A330 aircraft, as part of a €200 million investment programme which also includes a refresh of the carrier’s economy cabins.

From 1 August the new cabins will be available on routes from Helsinki to Tokyo Narita and Los Angeles, followed by Seoul from 1 September, and Osaka from 13 September.

LA will be the last of Finnair’s US routes to benefit from the new seats, joining Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New York JFK and Seattle.

In total the airline will offer the new cabins on a total of 14 routes to Asia, the US and the Middle East this summer.

Business Traveller has twice reviewed Finnair’s new business class seat – first on an A330 short-haul service between London and Helsinki, and subsequently on an A350 long-haul flight between Heksinki and Singapore.

Commenting on the news Anssi Partanen, Finnair’s market director UK and Ireland, said:

As we approach our centenary, it is wonderful to be able to bring our new innovative long-haul cabin to more destinations, and customers, across the world.

“We have been tirelessly working away on refitting our aircraft, to make sure even more customers can enjoy our renewed elevated experience, so this is a huge step towards our goal.”
