Accor has completed the refurbishment of its Novotel property in Zurich’s district 5.

The rooms, lobby, bar, restaurant and outdoor space of Novotel Zurich City-West have all been renovated, with highlights including a new red round bar in the entrance area, inspired by a large water tank.

The hotel has also launched THE FLAVE of Zurich – a catering concept already found at Novotel properties in Vienna and Munich, which focuses on local ingredients.

Rooms feature designer fixtures and furniture including lamps by Flos, Foscarini and B.lux, as well as the Deja Vú Stool by Magis and the Drop Chair by Fritz Hansen

Accor currently operates eight Novotel properties across Switzerland, including the Novotel Zurich Airport Messe.

The refurbishment of Novotel Zurich City-West follows the opening of the dual-branded Aparthotel Adagio Zurich City Centre, and Ibis Styles Zurich City Centre in 2021.

Commenting on the news Cutu Mazuelos, co-founder of Stone Designs which was responsible for the refurbishment project, said:

“Our first visit to the hotel was on a sunny day, and there were quite a few people walking around the Turbinenplatz.

“This inspired us to create an entrance area that looks warm, impresses with its spaciousness and where you immediately feel welcome.

“It should invite our guests to settle down and exchange ideas. So we wanted to bring the outside in.”
