Global travel technology company OYO has announced plans to add more than 50 properties to its UK portfolio this year, with focus destinations including Leeds, Brighton and Plymouth.

The group added its first UK hotel in 2018, and has grown to a current portfolio of around 150 properties in the UK, and around 40,000 hotels worldwide.

OYO said that it was in advanced-stage negotiations with over 30 UK hotels to join the OYO platform.

There are currently 27 OYO hotels in the London region, and 38 in the Midlands, and the group said that “While London, Birmingham, Torquay, Great Yarmouth and Manchester are the top markets for OYO in UK, it further plans to expand and focus on Leeds, Brighton and Plymouth in 2023”.

This week The Plymouth Herald reported on plans to expand the city’s existing OYO property – which opened in 2021 – adding additional floors and converting part of a parking area.

“Our result-oriented tech stack has been a draw for many entrepreneurs in the UK who are looking to improve and scale their hotel business. With this expansion we plan to enable many small businesses in the region so they can realise their full potential and manage their business with ease.”
