Accor has opened its fourth Fairmont property in Morocco, located in the country’s capital Rabat.
The 186-room Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé is situated on Avenue de Fès, overlooking The Bou Regreg river close to where it meets the Atlantic Ocean.
The hotel’s design has been inspired by “a majestic cruise liner dropping anchor on the estuary”, and features French brasserie L’Ecume, Moroccan restaurant Le Dahlia, and lobby lounge and tearoom La Verriere.
Le Deck – described as “a travelling cuisine inspired by Nikkei influences”, has views of the estuary and is also where the hotel’s “avante-garde bar” and year-round heated swimming pool are located.
Other facilities include a spa with ten treatment rooms, a fitness centre, and nine meeting spaces including a ballroom.
The opening follows the recent unveiling of the Fairmont Tazi Palace Tangier, which together join the existing Fairmont Taghazout Bay and Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech as the third and fourth properties under the brand in Morocco.
Forthcoming properties include Fairmont La Hacienda on the southern Mediterranean coast of Spain, and Fairmont Dubai Skyline in Sheikh Zayed Road.
Accor currently operates a portfolio of around 80 Fairmont hotels, around half of which are located in the US.
