The long-awaited UK debut of PPHE Hotel Group’s Art’otel brand will open in London next month.

The 164-room Art’otel London Battersea Power Station is accepting stays from December 12 as part of a soft opening, with an official launch taking place a month later on February 21.

This news comes a month after the opening of the restored Grade II-listed Battersea Power Station, almost 40 years after its closure.

The hotel is located within Battersea Roof Gardens, a new building designed by Foster and Partners on the new Electric Boulevard, located to the south of the Power Station.

Those staying at the hotel next month will be able to enjoy Venetian cicchetti, antipasti afternoon teas and brunches at Tozi Grand Café.

Guests will be able to personalise their stay using the Wonderpass app, which allows them to perform digital check-in and check-out, book spa, pool and restaurant reservations and access in-room dining and a 24-hour live chat.

Skyline restaurant Joia on the 14th floor, headed up by Portuguese chef Henrique Sa Pessoa, will open in February and offer traditional plates using British and Iberian produce. The spa will also open in February.

Bold and colourful interiors by Spanish artist Jaime Hayon were revealed in June and draw inspiration from both the building’s history and “future at the centre of a new cultural district and neighbourhood”.

Business Traveller first reported on the property back in 2015, and it had originally been scheduled to open in 2019.

Art’otel London Battersea Power Station will join existing hotels under the brand in Amsterdam, Berlin, Budapest and Cologne, with a second London property currently set to open in Hoxton in 2024. Additional opening are planned for Zagreb, Pula and Rome in 2022 and 2023.

PPHE has a strategic partnership in place with Radisson Hotel Group, allowing its Art’otel and Park Plaza properties to be marketed through Radisson and to participate in the group’s Radisson Rewards loyalty programme.
