Accor and joint venture partner Ennismore have announced plans to debut their midscale lifestyle brand in Thailand’s capital.

Tribe Bangkok Sukhumvit 39 is set to open in the fourth quarter of 2022, and will feature 272 rooms and serviced apartments, as well as a café, all day dining restaurant, rooftop bar, fitness centre, swimming pool and onsen (hot springs).

The Tribe brand was launched in 2019, with Accor stating at the time that it would offer a “high-quality hotel experience at an affordable price,” with a “carefully curated offer that focuses on style rather than price.”

It now falls under the Ennismore lifestyle division, with which Accor formed a joint venture in 2021.

Recent openings include Tribe Paris La Défense, and Tribe Amsterdam City, located within the ‘Gare du Nord’ project in Amsterdam-North.

The brand also debuted in the UK this summer, with the unveiling of Tribe London Canary Wharf.

Ennismore has so far signed 50 Tribe hotels, with a target of opening up to 100 properties globally within the next five years, in destinations including Phuket, Manila and Singapore.

Commenting on the news François Leclerc, deputy brand COO at Ennismore, said:

“With its dynamic culture that attracts modern travellers across the globe, the capital city of Bangkok is the ideal location to first introduce our fastest-growing lifestyle brand to Thailand.

“We see a great opportunity for a hotel with a unique personality and can’t wait to bring the playful lifestyle experience of Tribe to those seeking eye-catching design and outstanding comfort in Thailand’s capital.”
