Hilton has added the third property in the Houston area under its Curio Collection brand, with the reflagging of The Woodlands Resort to the north of the city.

The 402-room hotel is set to undergo “an extensive programme of enhancements” starting in the second quarter of this year, including a top-to-bottom makeover of the property’s 10,000 square foot spa, the expansion of an existing fitness centre, the addition of a new lobby bar with water views, and the upgrading of existing restaurants and bars.

A new guest room model is set to be unveiled in the spring, and the hotel’s 3,000 square foot Forest Deck is also set to be transformed into “a distinctive alfresco venue for meetings, ceremonies and receptions”.

Other facilities at the property include 75,000 square feet of indoor meeting and events space, two championship golf courses, the Forest Oasis Lazy River and Waterpark, 21 tennis courts and a baike and kayak fleet.

The Woodlands Resort is situated around 30 miles north of downtown Houston, and will join The Sam Houston, Curio Collection by Hilton, and C Baldwin, Curio Collection by Hilton, as the third property under the brand in the area.

Hilton’s Curio brand launched in 2014, and last year passed the milestone of 100 properties worldwide.

Notable forthcoming Curio hotels include Lost Property St Paul’s London, and Sea Breeze Santorini Beach Resort – both of which are scheduled to open this spring.
