Hilton Honors has changed the requirements of its status match programme, allowing members to gain elite status after fewer nights.

Base and Silver members who have status in a competitor loyalty programme can apply to status match, and get 90 days Gold status once approved.

Previously, to maintain Gold status at the end of the 90 days members had to complete ten nights during the promotional period, and to upgrade to Diamond they needed to complete 18 nights.

These requirements have now been halved to five and nine nights respectively, and what’s more members who do earn Gold or Diamond status under the promotion, will maintain their status until March 31, 2023.

Listed competitor loyalty programmes for which status match can be requested include:

  • Marriott Bonvoy
  • IHG Rewards Club
  • World of Hyatt
  • Best Western Rewards
  • Choice Privileges
  • Le Club Accor Horels
  • Radisson Rewards
  • Wyndham Rewards

Note that the status match offer is only available to Base and Silver members within the Hilton Honors scheme, and that the 90-day period to reach five or nine nights starts as soon as the match has been approved.

Hilton says that members should allow five to seven business days for the status match request to be processed, although it notes that “Hilton may require additional validation in its complete discretion which may take an additional five to seven business days”.

Members are only eligible for the offer if they have not previously completed a Hilton Honors status match challenge.
