Hilton has added the 70-suite Oceana Santa Monica as the first US property under its growing LXR Hotels and Resorts brand.
Situated on Ocean Avenue overlooking Palisades Park and the Pacific Ocean, the property has joined the luxury LXR brand following a $30 million transformation of the former Oceana Beach Club Hotel.
Suites feature four-poster beds, with Loro Piana bedding and Frette linens and spa-inspired bathrooms with Bottega Veneta bath amenities, with décor including “soothing color palettes, gold metal accents, bold geometric patterns and extensive wood finishes”.
The hotel’s dining spaces are open to guests only, offering seasonal Californian cuisine served either in the main Sandpiper restaurant, the alfresco Veranda, or the rooftop Sunset Terrace, which also features a Nobu Pop-Up experience.
Leisure facilities include a tree-lined swimming pool, fitness centre with Peloton and Technogym equipment, and a spa treatment room.
The property is located around 15 miles from Los Angeles International airport, and a similar distance west of downtown Los Angeles.
Hilton launched the LXR Hotels and Resorts brand in 2018, with the former St Regis Dubai Al Habtoor City the first to join the collection.
The Dubai property was joined in 2019 by The Biltmore in London (for a review click here), followed by Zemi Beach House In Anguilla, Mango House in the Seychelles, and Susona Bodrum in Turkey in 2020.
Two further properties are set to open in Kyoto and Las Vegas later this year.
