Hilton has announced the latest Covid-19 related benefit for Honors members, as it looks to shore up customer loyalty over the coming months.

The programme is rolling over all elite qualifying nights earned for stays between January 1 and December 31, 2020, into 2021.

Under normal conditions members’ elite qualifying night totals would reset to zero at the end of the status year, but under the new initiative a member with, say, 15 nights at the end of 2020, will start 2021 with that total.

As well as helping members to attain status next year, it should also serve to encourage members to book with Hilton (over another brand) in the coming months, in the knowledge that any points earned (however limited) will not disappear at the end of this year.

The move adds to several other programme enhancements announced since the onset of Covid-19, including the extension of status privileges and pausing of points expiration, and the extension of the group’s current flexible cancellation policy.
