Pangong Lake opens to tourists

Pangong Lake

Almost a year after being closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and now the Indian-Chinese Line of Actual Control tensions around the area, Pangong Lake has opened for tourists.

Tourists must get inner line permit (ILP) at lahdclehpermit.in in order to visit the lake.

China holds more than two-thirds of the 134km-long lake.

Travellers can however only go to the starting point of the lake, Lukung, which is far from the location of the India-China standoff.
