Virtual escape: Explore India, Frankfurt and Turkey from your home

Virtual travel is gaining momentum with each passing day. Earlier this month, Business Traveller India took you through some engaging campaigns that are being adopted by travel and tourism boards across the globe. As an extension to it, here are a few more immersive virtual travel experiences that you can enjoy without leaving your couch.

Frankfurt: Indulge in an augmented reality experience of Frankfurt and its picturesque surroundings via Frankfurt Digital. Discover the New Frankfurt Old Town from wherever you are. All you have to do is:

  • Download the “Frankfurt Old Town AR” app.
  • Open the app and scan the postcard.
  • Tap on the highlights and explore.

Abu Dhabi: #StayCurious about the glitzy emirate through a series of educational and entertainment initiatives rolled out by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi). The programme involves insights on the history and heritage; cooking workshops and masterclasses; free virtual courses and educational content and a platform that links to a series of virtual events and activations, set to be launched by DCT Abu Dhabi and its partners in the coming weeks. staycurious.ae

India: India’s Ministry of Tourism has come up with a new project called “Dekho Apna Desh” or “See Your Country” —  a collection of webinars comprising sessions on different cities of India; highlighting their tourist attractions, history and culture.
