Accor has opened its first hotel in the South American country Bolivia, situated in the commercial centre of Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
Swissotel Santa Cruz de la Sierra features 138 rooms and suites, as well as Elsa restaurant, rooftop bar Faro, a gym, heated pool, conference room and two boardrooms.
The hotel’s interior design showcases works by Bolivian artists including sculptor Juan Bustillos and “plastic artist” Leoni.
The property is located in Santa Cruz’s Barrio 2 de Abril district to the north of the city centre, around 15km from Viru Viru International airport.
Santa Cruz de la Sierra (often known simply as Santa Cruz) is situated in the centre of Bolivia and produces nearly 35 per cent of the country’s GDP.
Other major hotel brands present in the city include Marriott Hotels and Resorts Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Hampton by Hilton Santa Cruz, and Tryp by Wyndham Santa Cruz.
Commenting on the opening Philippe Trapp, executive vice president of Accor’s Luxury Brands, South America said:
