Premier Inn is set to open a 400-room hotel in London’s Canary Wharf in early 2022.
Property developers Rockwell announced they have agreed a £106 million investment deal with Aviva Investors to fund a new mixed-use development next to Westferry DLR station, which will house the hotel.
Local authorities granted planning permission for the 30-storey building in 2018.
It has been designed by Simpson Haugh and Partners, responsible for One Blackfriars and the Circus West Village at Battersea Power Station.

The hotel will be Premier Inn’s biggest city centre hotel, with only its properties at Gatwick, Heathrow Terminal 4 and Heathrow Bath Road having higher room counts.
Whitbread, Premier Inn’s parent company, will take a 30-year lease of the hotel and restaurant.
The development will feature 66 residential apartments, retail and community space, a roof garden and a ground floor “Whitbread-branded restaurant”.
Rockwell has also promised public realm improvements, including the planting of 50 trees, ornamental planting, rain gardens and seating areas.
