How do I get Emirates to care about me as a customer?

I use EK alot (and indeed th eother usual outfits such as BA, LH, Swiss but very little skyteam) and quite like EK although I have had the occasional problem.

In general, for all the above, when a lfight has no real issues, they are all quite good with EK being the best [on balance when you consider what you are getting for what you pay*]

However, I have generally never found an airline that performs well when there is an issue. EK are as bad as anyone in this regard.

Even recently the usually good SWISS had the audacity to tell me I cound not use the empty overhead bin directly overhead my Seat. [They wanted to keep it for business class PAX!!

Conclusion : Don’t ever expect that an airline will actually deliver the product and service you expect and indeed have paid for. If anything goes wrong, they already have your money since you must PREPAY. And they will make it VERY DIFFICULT for you to get any of it back.

Hence, I generally only pay as little as I can get away with whilst obaining some degree of comfortable service. I no longer have the expectation that having handed over often a significant amount of cash that I will actually get any degree of guarantee for the journey or product. Sad but largely the reality now.

    * Compare the cost of an EK F suite on A380 to the cost of SIN Air suite. The latter is perhaps double the cost but is it twice as good? And no shower?

I flew with EK two year ago. Service was excellent on one leg and terrible on the other three.

Emailed Customer Relations here in the UK and they couldn’t have cared less. No offer was made for a broken suitcase and they clearly weren’t interested in my custom.

That’s why I do not book with them anymore & have advised everyone I know not to fly with Emirates. They’ve lost a lot of money but I guess that doesn’t matter for an airline that most definitely does not receive state subsidies.

I was going to Pakistan via Emirates and offered a ticket from online with 23 Hours stay in Dubai Airport with complimentary stopover and meals. When I confirmed the booking, I couldn’t find any link to confirm/apply for DUBAI CONNECT. I called their customer service department and was shocked to know their response that my ticket is not eligible for Dubai Connect? When I told them that I was offered Dubai Connect at the time of booking and I’ve confirmation/printout of my booking which confirms that I was eligible for Dubai Connect, they still refused. I sent them emails/phone, but i was refused.

At the time of checking in, I contacted their Desk and I was told I was Eligible (after seeing my printouts) but I should have booked it 24 hours prior to the flight?

I asked them that I was emailing/phoning them for a week but in vien. Customer Service told me there is nothing they could do to arrange a Visa / etc as it requires 24 hours to process on the system (Which I doubt, as when any flight get delayed, they arrange it instantly?)

I’ve been emailing to them, but sometimes they say I was not Eligible, sometimes they say that I was Eligible but I had to book it 24 hours earlier?

I don’t know who to contact? as Martina Totaro from Customer Affairs UK has not been able to resolve my query and asked me not to pursue this matter?

Please help? How can i register my complaint CEO/Head of Customer Servie?

Throughout past 10 years, I was most loyal to Emirates but now they have lost me for sure.

Customer service nightmare, I am burning my frequent flyer points and then I am done with them.

The worst insult was down grading me and my family on the way back from our wedding.

Never Fly Emirates – I was almost arrested due to their mistake!
I am a Norwegian citizen living and working in Shanghai. I have held a Norwegian passport since 1992.
On 17th September 2015 I landed at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on Emirates flight EK 304. After the plane landed and before the passengers disembarked, a policeman entered the cabin, walked to my seat and asked me to show him my passport. After he checked my passport, he promptly escorted me off the plane without even my carry-on luggage in front of all the passengers, like a criminal.
I was then detained at the airport for almost two hours while my husband waited outside not knowing what had happened to me, as I was unable to make a phone call. I asked the police why they singled me out, he said the police got information from Emirates Airlines that my passport was reported stolen and I was suspected of carrying a fake passport. Which, of course, never happened and therefore this inexcusable horrific experience should also have never happened.
Finally, after almost 2 hours, the police told me that the information they had received from the Emirates Airlines was incorrect, and they let me go.
In fact, it was one of the a flight attendants who was standing at the open cabin door who had my name on a list in her hand who in turn informed the police that I was on the plane and that I should be taken away and questioned.
I take this matter very seriously and this is what I expect from Emirates Airlines no later than 1st October 2015.
    1. A detailed explanation on why this event took place.
    2. A written declaration that I have not been put on any international travel “watch list”.
    3. A formal apology.
    4. Remuneration for the embarrassment and stress both my husband and myself had to endure do to an unimaginable and inexcusable blunder by your staff.
Emirates finally emailed me, denied everything and insinuated that I was trying to get something for nothing from them. Unbelievable. Never fly them again.

You won’t get anything from EK, so you might as well get over it.

Switch to Etihad, they do, and every flight you get great service recognition, and at times, upgraded to First!
Being more of a Boutique Airline originally, they are bursting at the seams in size, new routes every few weeks, and Business Studios, and First Apartments.

They negotiate and invest, and gain influence with other Airlines, and are growing well as a result. Look at how they have re-invigorated Alitalia?
EK behave like Bullies, so many subjects on here have concerned their behaviour, undercutting and bullying other Airlines into losing Business.

Depends on your personal sty;le as a person and in Business as to which form of approach you prefer these days. I stick with KLM, and Etihad.

I have to say, as someone who has flown a lot of sectors onboth EK and EY, that their customer service on the ground is pretty equal in my experience.

fclassflyer – Did you not have to show your passports with the boarding cards at the gate in Lhr?

I really have no desire to ever fly with Emirates ever again, everyone had told me how good they were suppose to be, well the flight attendants were very good and had to deal with a very argumentative customer whom was very rude for sitting in the wrong seat, but it’s just the fake gold the whole thing is just way too much, I got one didn’t like it, I know lots comment on here about BA, fair awnuf they might not have the best product but I do always feel I’ve been looked after on board, or on the ground when things have gone wrong.

In short, they don’t and they won’t! Like others who have commented, I too am voting with my feet and have now started using other airlines in the region rather than Emirates, as their treatment of Gold card holders is astonishingly poor, and customer service is truly appalling.

Whilst Emirates appear not to care about losing customers, they clearly do not understand or care about the potential knock on effect either; in my case, I have blocked staff bookings on Emirates in favour of Gulf Air or alternatives, which now means over eighty individuals won’t be using them either!

After several poor experiences with Emirates I moved to Etihad, they were fine, but Emirates is far superior when they deliver their product as stated. Unfortunately, Emirates rarely deliver the product as stated by their customer charter. I decided to try Emirates again, but to my disappointment the quality was agin sub standard. Check in was painful and the original seat that I reserved was not given, the seat I was placed in was dirty and broken, the on board staff offered me 2 other seats, but they were positioned in the aisle, and from previous experience you are often bumped and disturbed in these seats.
I have sent a letter of complaint to CS, and the CSD said she would file a report, the response I received from CS was full of contempt, and would accept no blame, or focus on customer satisfaction!
Does anyone have the email address of the senior directors of Emirates, as I am sick of their lack of customer focus and want to make this as public as possible.
    Thanks in anticpation
