In an effort to support the spirit of giving encouraged during the holy month of Ramadan, as well as aligning with the UAE’s commitment to halve food waste by 2030, Rove Hotels will be donating its untouched surplus food to the UAE Food Bank throughout the month.

The hotel is also encouraging guests to not waste food through a special package that allows them to receive a complimentary for another meal, if they manage to finish their meal without wasting any food while enjoying an Iftar at Rove (for which the cost begins at an affordable Dhs99). If they successfully earn one, diners can feel free to use the complimentary voucher to enjoy a second meal on another day, or celebrate Ramadan’s spirit of sharing by giving the voucher to another person, be that friends, family, or someone in need.

In addition to inviting guests to approach their dining more sustainably, the initiative is also intended to encourage mindful eating, while reducing the amount of leftover food that is often associated with meals during the month of Ramadan. Any other leftover items beyond the donated surplus food will be composted, in line with Rove’s usual sustainability guidelines.
