SkyTeam member China Airlines, the flag carrier of Taiwan, will resume its five-weekly Taipei-Seattle service on 14 July, its sixth destination in North America.

China Airlines will deploy one of its Airbus A350-900 widebody aircraft on the route, with 1-2-1 business class, 2-3-2 premium economy and 3-3-3 economy class seating options.

Earlier this month, China Airlines confirmed a US$400 million cabin refurbishment programme for its 15 A350-900s which is slated to commence this year.

The Taipei-Seattle service will depart from the Taiwanese capital every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 2330 and arrive in Seattle at 1950 local time after approximately 11 hours of flying. The return flight CI021 will take off at 0140 from Seattle and arrive back at Taoyuan International airport in Taiwan at 0505 the following morning.

To celebrate CI022, the new nonstop service to Seattle, China Airlines is offering discounts up to 22 per cent off on round-trip fares. The airline’s Dynasty frequent flyer member members will also receive 2,200 bonus miles per leg flying the new route through the end of September.

Seattle will be China Airlines’ sixth destination in North America following Los Angeles, Ontario (CA), San Francisco, New York, and Vancouver.

China Airlines has operated in the North American market for more than half a century.

The scheduled nonstop service to Ontario (CA) remains exclusive to China Airlines.

Other Taiwanese carrier EVA Air also currently serves the Taipei-Seattle route and Taiwan’s Starlux Airlines will join the fray later this year, too.
