World of Hyatt is making a number of changes to its World of Hyatt loyalty programme from the start of 2024, which it says will offer “more flexibility and choices for members”.

From 1 January members will have access to a wider range of milestone rewards, including the choice of either 2,000 Bonus Points on their next stay at selected properties, two Club Access Awards, or a $25 FIND experience credit when reaching 20 Qualifying Nights / 35,000 Base Points.

The Guest of Honor benefit – which currently gives elite Globalist members the unlimited opportunity to share their in-hotel benefits with chosen guests – is also being reimagined.

Instead members will now receive a Guest of Honour award after 40 nights / 65,000 Base Points, with another two awards after achieving 60 nights / 100,000 Base Points, and further awards at 70, 80, 90, 110, 120, 130 and 140 nights.

The current programme rewards members with milestone rewards up to 100 nights, but from 1 January this will be extended all the way up to 150 nights, which Hyatt says will make it “the only global hotel loyalty programme to reward members with milestone rewards for stays beyond 100 nights”.

Members reaching the 150-night milestone will receive an Ultimate Free Night Award (one free night in any participating Category 1-8 hotel, Category A-F all-inclusive resort or Miraval resort), as well as a choice of either 10,000 bonus points, a suite upgrade reward, or a Miraval extra night award.

Finally Hyatt said that the revamped programme “will offer new pathways for these critical business stakeholders to earn status and milestones when they choose Hyatt for their clients and colleagues”.

This means that those planning events or booking on behalf of travellers will earn two qualifying night credits toward tier status for every $5,000, up to $150,000, in eligible spend each year on qualifying events, bookings through Hyatt Privé, or when making a qualifying booking through Hyatt channels with an IATA number associated with their World of Hyatt membership.

The group said that this would allow meeting and events planners to earn up 60 qualifying night credits, enough to achieve Globalist status.

Commenting on the changes Mark Vondrasek, chief commercial officer, Hyatt, said:

“One of the reasons we’ve quadrupled our membership over the past five years is that we look for new ways to care for our World of Hyatt members by offering benefits that matter most and can be shared.

“We’ve grown our brand presence in the luxury and lifestyle space by adding hotels in new markets and expanding our brands in the destinations where our members want to travel, making our portfolio even more desirable.

“We’re proud to be adding, building, and evolving World of Hyatt to bring industry-leading changes that are redefining loyalty with our three guiding principles of care: loyalty extends beyond the member, choice is critical and recognition means everything.”
