AirBaltic has invited creatives across the world to help design the livery of its 50th A220-300 aircraft.
The competition is open to anyone over the age of 18 from any country, including artists, designers, and creative talents – submissions from commercial entities or designs showcasing recognisable commercial brands will not be accepted.
Entrants must download a blank image of the A220-300 livery and design the front, right and left side of the aircraft, but leave the engines and winglets as they are.
Additionally, they must provide a description of “what the livery conveys, how it correlates with airBaltic, and why it’s the right fit for the 50th aircraft”.
Submissions are open until 12 December, 2023, with the aircraft set to be delivered in November 2024.
The design committee will evaluate all entries based on adherence to the contest guidelines and shortlist 15-20 designs.
These designs will then be displayed on a special webpage and voting will be open exclusively to airBaltic Club members, with one vote per member, from 19 December, 2023 until 4 January, 2024. Members who participate can also enter a raffle for a chance to fly on this specific aircraft.
The winner will be contacted on 8 January and will see their design featured on the 50th aircraft, as well as receiving a €3,000 gift certificate for airBaltic.

“As we aim towards a 100-aircraft fleet by 2030, we eagerly anticipate the arrival of our 50th aircraft at the end of 2024. To mark this milestone, we are excited to offer a unique and historical opportunity to contribute in the creation of the livery for this special aircraft. Perhaps, exactly your design will be carried by one of our aircraft within the wide airBaltic network.”
AirBaltic operates more than 100 routes from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius and Tampere, offering connections to destinations in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and the Caucasus region.
