IHG Hotels and Resorts has signed a management agreement with Sharjah Asset Management (SAM), the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah, to bring a voco hotel to Sharjah in the UAE.
The voco hotel which is scheduled to open in 2027 is the first IHG hotel announced for Sharjah.
The 191-key property will be located near the Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club on the Al Dhaid-Masafi Road. As part of a masterplan encompassing retail spaces, offices, and SAM’s headquarters, the mixed-use development is expected to attract leisure tourists and corporate guests too.
The hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, as well as a gym, pool and spa facilities.
The all-new voco will also feature around 5,000 sq ft of meeting spaces for conferences, events, and business gatherings.

Voco Hotels was introduced in 2018 and is not only IHG’s newest premium brand but IHG says that it is also on track to become its fastest-growing in the company’s history.
IHG has announced several new voco openings for the region over the last few months. It includes a franchise agreement with DIA SARL to debut voco in Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, as well as a management agreement with Akam Al Rajhi to open the first voco resort in the Middle East and Africa along Egypt’s North Coast. Also in Egypt, IHG will open voco West Cairo 205 Suites by June 2026.
Elsewhere, IHG has also confirmed a 246-key voco Hotel and Suites Riyadh North property scheduled to host its first guests in 2026.
