This week, IHG Hotels and Resorts signed a management agreement with Jurmaz Hotels Company to bring a new voco hotel to Saudi Arabia’s capital city of Riyadh.

The 246-key voco Hotel and Suites Riyadh North is scheduled to host its first guests in 2026.

The 29-floor hotel will be located around 1.5km from King Abdullah Financial District and a 30-minute drive from King Khalid International airport.

The property will include seven meeting rooms as well as four food and beverage options, including a specialty restaurant and a rooftop juice bar. Planned leisure facilities include a swimming pool and gym.

The voco brand was launched in 2018, and has since then rapidly expanded in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Haitham Mattar, managing director, India, Middle East and Africa at IHG said, “Voco has seen remarkable success in the region, and we are pleased to bring another property in Saudi Arabia in partnership with Jurmaz Hotels Company. Riyadh is a juxtaposition of ancient wonders and a towering business district that makes it one of the largest and most popular hubs in the kingdom. As per General Entertainment Authority (GEA), initiatives such as Riyadh Season attracted over 12 million visitors to the capital in just 90 days last year. These unprecedented numbers underline the need for new hotels and fresh, compelling guest experiences, in line with Vision 2030.”

IHG currently operates 38 hotels in Saudi Arabia across brands including: InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites, and voco with 33 hotels in the development pipeline. It includes a recently-announced Hotel Indigo property which will be built in the Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City located in Riyadh.

Elsewhere in the Middle East, this year, IHG opened voco Dubai The Palm, a brand-new beachfront hotel located on the Palm Jumeirah. The 138-key voco Dubai The Palm offers guests direct access to the Palm West Beach promenade as well as a stretch of the hotel’s private beach.
