The Virgin Red loyalty programme has added the option to redeem points for Costa, Pizza Express and Nike gift cards.
Members can now redeem 1,000 Virgin Points for a £5 Costa gift card, 4,000 points for a £20 Pizza Express gift card, or 6,000 points for a £30 Nike gift card.
The redemption rate for these digital gift cards (which do not expire) values one Virgin Point at 0.5p.
At present these are the only three gift card options available, but in a press release Andrea Burchett, managing director commercial and loyalty for Virgin Red, told members to “Watch out for more gift cards to come”.
The Virgin Red scheme was officially opened up to new members in 2021, allowing Virgin Atlantic Flying Club members to join Virgin Red and link their accounts together, expanding earn and burn opportunities.
Both schemes use the same currency, following the rebranding of Flying Club miles as Virgin Points in September 2020.
The group has gradually been adding earning and redemption options to the Virgin Red programme, with 56 new retailers unveiled as online points earning partners in August 2022, and Cineworld, Picturehouse and Showcase cinemas joining the scheme’s redemption portfolio late last year.
