Accor has announced plans for a ibis Styles property close to Germany’s second busiest airport.

The 358-room new-build ibis Styles Munich Airport is scheduled to open in spring 2025, and will be located next to the existing Novotel Munich Airport.

Facilities will include an open lobby concept with breakfast area, restaurant, bar and co-working space, as well as a fitness centre, self-service food market and onsite parking.

The hotel’s design has been inspired by the Isar river – and the cubic blue-green facade of the property has been designed to be “reminiscent of the play of light and colour in the Bavarian forests”.

Accor lists five existing hotels in the vicinity of Munich airport – Novotel Munich Airport, ibis Muenchen Airport Sued, Movenpick Muenchen Airport, Mercure Hotel Munich Airport Freising, and ibis budget Muenchen Airport Erding.

Commenting on the news Thiemo Willms, vice president development Accor DACH, said:

“Munich Airport is one of the most important travel hubs in all of Europe. We are therefore proud, together with our partner, Flughafen München GmbH, to represent not only our ibis Styles brand, but also the city of Munich with our design and our range.”

Last month Radisson Hotel Group added the Flightgate Munich Airport Hotel to its Radisson Individuals brand. The 212-room property is located around ten minutes from the airport in the town of Hallbergmoos.
