British Airways has confirmed the next stage of the rollout of its business class Club Suite, with the carrier’s B787-8 aircraft set to get the product this year.
BA launched the Club Suite in 2019, and has been steadily retrofitting existing B777 aircraft, as well as taking delivery of new A350 and B787-10 aircraft with the suite.
When we last posted an update on the rollout in late 2021 there was no news on when the carrier’s fleet of 12 B787-8 aircraft might get the Club Suite, but in social media posts published this week BA confirmed that the Dreamliner would be the “next in line” to be retrofitted.
Business Traveller asked BA for more details on this, and was told that customers would be able to experience the Club Suite on retrofitted B787-8 aircraft “later this year”. The airline also said that:
“We remain committed to rolling out our award-winning Club Suite and we’re pleased that our Boeing 787-8 aircraft is next to be retrofitted, allowing our customers to experience our latest business class product to even more destinations across our network.”
BA also has a fleet of 18 B787-9 aircraft, which are also expected to be retrofitted with the Club Suite at some point.
Business Traveller has published a wealth of articles on the British Airways Club Suite, which features a sliding door, 40 per cent more storage, and a 1-2-1 layout with direct aisle access for all passengers.
