The first 25 hours hotel in Italy will open in Florence next week on September 8, 2021.
The 25 hours Hotel Piazza San Paolino is in the Santa Maria Novella district at the centre of Florence, close to Florence’s train station, at the back of the Museo del Novecento.
Filling an entire block between the Via de Fossi with its antique shops and the popular Via Palazzuolo, the 171-room hotel is in the former premises of Monte de ‘Pegni – the lending company of the Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze. A central core of 66 rooms are in the original monastery next to the church of San Paolino. In addition there is a new annexe with another 104 guest rooms with balconies, as well as the Casetta del Giardino, a small apartment with a private garden and pool.

Created by Milan-based designer Paola Navone and her team, the hotel was inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy with rooms themes around hell and paradise “offering an illuminating tour through Dante’s world of virtues and vices”.
The Restaurant San Paolino which serves Italian food with a focus Tuscan produce is at the centre of the hotel in the historical palazzo, with a courtyard garden, a classic Negroni bar and an alimentary (grocery store) in the piazza serving paninis, sandwiches and salads, as well as a traditional-style wine shop offering a selection of local products and specialities. The range was curated by S. Forno, a legendary local bakery, and all of the freshly baked products come straight from their ovens, of course.

The Companion Bar also has a traditional ‘hole in the wall’, the buchetta del vino, for guests to enjoy a glass of wine on the pavement in front of the establishment.
25 hours hotels was founded in 2005 and currently operates 12 hotels. Upcoming openings include the 25 hours Hotel One Central in Dubai and further hotels in Copenhagen, Sydney and Melbourne. The 25 hours Hotel Company formed a strategic alliance with Accor in 2016, and Accor now has a 50 percent stake.
The new Florence hotel has an offer of a 25 percent discount on the normal rate for two nights or more, as well as complimentary breakfast, for bookings until the end of 2021.
