Tourists who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 can enter Sikkim, starting from today. The state government had suspended the entry of tourists since March this year following a surge in Covid-19 cases.

A latest notification by the Home Department, Government of Sikkim reads “Entry of all persons, including tourists, who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, shall be allowed from Melli and Rangpo check post, without RT-PCR negative report on the production of valid vaccination documents. For all others, existing restrictions will continue to apply.”

The government has allowed all hotels, guest houses, and homestays to operate at 50 per cent capacity with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols. Malls and showrooms are also permitted to operate.

As per the notification, all government offices can function with fully vaccinated employees, while those who have not yet received both doses can work with the present arrangement of 50 per cent attendance.

Likewise, all factories, production units, and commercial establishments can also operate at 100 per cent capacity provided the workers/employees are fully vaccinated.
