Mauritius is all set to reopen to vaccinated travellers from July 15, 2021.

The destination will start to welcome international tourists again under a phased reopening.

The first phase from July 15 to September 30 will enable vaccinated travellers to enjoy a resort holiday on the island.

Vaccinated travellers can stay at one of the pre-approved certified Covid-19 safe hotels, and can enjoy facilities within their hotel including the swimming pool and beach. A list of approved hotels will be announced on June 20, 2021.

Vaccinated guests will have to undergo RT-PCR test on their day of arrival, on day seven and day 14. After a negative test report on day 14, guests are free to explore the island’s tourist attractions.

For anyone planning shorter stays (less than 14 days), they won’t be able to leave the hotel or explore the destination.

For Phase 2 that begins from October 1, 2021, vaccinated travellers will be allowed to enter the island without restrictions. However, they need to submit a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before departure.

Unvaccinated travellers will be subject to 14 days in-room quarantine for both Phases 1 and 2 until further notice.
