AGS Airports Limited has introduced rapid Covid-19 testing facilities at its airports in Aberdeen and Glasgow.
Aberdeen International and Glasgow airports have partnered with ICTS UK and Ireland and TAC Healthcare Group to offer PCR tests for £80 and antigen tests costing £55.
The facilities are currently designed for passengers travelling for essential purposes during the national lockdown. While Aberdeen airport says that there are slots available from today, it is only possible to book a test at Glasgow airport from March 27, 2021 at 1000.
Customers will have to book appointments in advance directly through the airports’ individual websites: aberdeenairport.com/coronavirus and glasgowairport.com/coronavirus.
The tests at Aberdeen airport take place within the Granite City Restaurant in the main terminal building, and are as follows:
- PCR Park and Test costs £80, with results available within 24 hours. Customers are required to enter a vehicle registration number when booking to avoid being charged for parking.
- Rapid antigen test costs £55, with results returned within 15 minutes. Customers will be asked to wait in the restaurant until the process is complete. Passengers who require the test to travel will not be allowed to check-in unless they have a negative test result.
Meanwhile, Glasgow airport is offering PCR tests and rapid antigen tests on the first floor of the terminal before security. The airport also has a drive-through facility for PCR tests which is located in the short stay car park 2.
The airports state that both types of test are available until April 5, 2021, and that they will “be releasing more test slots as and when airline schedules are confirmed”.
The group also intends to introduce testing capacity it its other airport in Southampton.

Edinburgh Airport recently expanded its Covid-19 testing facilities, with a new rapid lateral flow test service giving results in 20 minutes.
