Hotel group Selina has opened its second UK property in Birmingham.
The 39-room hotel in the city’s Jewellery Quarter has a “sociable” lobby space where exhibitions will be displayed, a coffee shop and a cocktail bar.
An all-day Latin American restaurant called La Mariposa will open next month.
Rooms are design-oriented and feature pieces by local artists. Categories include a loft, a suite, standard and micro-sized double rooms and shared rooms for between three to fourteen guests, including a female-only option.
The hotel, called the Selina Birmingham, will also open a garden extending from the restaurant which will serve cocktails.
It joins the Latin American group’s 37-room hotel in in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, which opened in August.
Selina launched in 2015, and currently operates more than 50 locations in countries including Argentina, Brazil, Columbia, Mexico, Panama and Peru.
The group has plans to expand into the US and Europe, with a target of 100 locations and 100,000 beds by 2022.
It is set to open properties in Liverpool and Brighton next year.
