United has unveiled its latest inflight safety video, featuring Marvel superhero Spider-Man.
The video is part of a promotional partnership with Sony Pictures, ahead of the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home in July.
The partnership will also see Polaris business class customers receive special Spider-Man themed amenity kits, and Mileage Plus members will be able to redeem points against a number of “unique experiences” to see the movie this summer.
Spider-Man and Marvel fans will recognise Jacob Batalon, who plays Peter Parker’s best friend Ned in the most recent Spider-Man films, Tony Revolori who plays Flash Thompson, and Hemky Madera, who played the role of Mr Delmar in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
United’s CEO Oscar Munoz also appears in the video, and in a homage to the late Spider-Man creator Stan Lee, one of the scenes features a framed photo of the comic book writer, editor, publisher, and producer. Lee famously featured in cameo appearances for numerous Marvel films.
Beginning in June business class customers will receive limited edition amenity kits featuring Spider-Man branded products, and Mileage Plus members will be able to bid to attend the premier of the new film in LA.
Commenting on the news United’s Vice President of Marketing, Mark Krolick said:
“For decades, Spider-Man has consistently shown the importance of using power to do good and to keep the public safe. We also believe that our greatest responsibility is to keep our customers and crew safe on board our aircraft.
“We are excited to have Spider-Man and his friends, along with our employees, bring new attention to the inflight safety video and creatively engage customers on such an important announcement.”
