IndiGo has added Shillong as its 54th domestic destination. Starting from July 20, the low-cost carrier, as a part of its regional connectivity project, will operate daily non-stop flights on Shillong-Kolkata route. (Also read: IndiGo announces new flights under UDAN scheme)

IndiGo has announced six new daily flights to and from Kolkata which includes direct services between Raipur and Kolkata.

IndiGo will be deploying its ATR-18 aircraft on these routes.

William Boulter, chief commercial officer, IndiGo said, “We are strengthening our network from Kolkata with six new flights including a new RCS route. Kolkata-Shillong-Kolkata, our next RCS route, will significantly increase connectivity and tourist traffic in the Northeast region.

“Shillong, an important city in the Northeast, will be the 54th domestic destination in our network. With this expansion, we hope to create more affordable, point-to-point connectivity for our passengers. IndiGo will continue to offer an on-time, courteous and hassle-free service and affordable flying experience always.”

On the international front, IndiGo is to launch its third direct flight on Delhi-Kathmandu route, July 4 onwards.
