Flydubai has announced plans for two new routes to Budapest and Naples next year.

The carrier will operate up to five flights per week to Naples from June 4, 2019, and daily flights to the Hungarian capital Budapest from June 27.

Flydubai’s strategic partner Emirates will codeshare on both routes, with the Gulf carrier also offering its own service between Dubai and Budapest. The Naples route will be the only direct, nonstop service by a UAE carrier.

The new flights will depart from Dubai International’s Terminal 3, following Flydubai’s decision to move some of its services from Terminal 2, in order to optimise connection possibilities with Emirates.

Both routes will be operated by Flydubai’s B737 Max 8 aircraft, which features ten fully-flat business class seats including a middle row with two “throne” seats.

The carrier’s growing fleet of Max aircraft have allowed it to expand flights to Europe – the new services to Budapest and Naples will add to Flydubai’s European route network of 24 destinations across Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Italy, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine.

Commenting on the news Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations and E-commerce for Flydubai, said:

“Budapest and Naples are important centres for commerce, trade and industry and are incredibly popular leisure destinations, especially during the summer.

“Making these destinations more accessible to travellers looking for new places to explore will undoubtedly stimulate traffic flows and tourism.

“These new routes provide those in Hungary and Italy with the opportunity to explore Dubai and beyond on our network.”

Flydubai recently revamped its fare structure, adding a new hand baggage only option – details of this can be seen here.
