Hyatt has announced plans for its first Andaz property in Dubai.
The 156-room hotel will be located in the coastal La Mer district of the city, home to Laguna Waterpark, as well as restaurants, shops and a beach area.
The property is expected to open in 2020, and will feature two restaurants, a rooftop bar and pool, and two studio meeting rooms.
Andaz Dubai La Mer will be the second property under the brand in the UAE, joining the recently announced Andaz Capital Gate Abu Dhabi – a rebranding of the existing Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi.
Commenting on the news Ludwig Bouldoukian, Hyatt’s Dubai-based regional vice president of development, Middle East and North Africa said:

Given its location at La Mer, the hotel will provide the ideal setting for visitors looking to experience the ultra-modern, design-led façade of Dubai, something that will be integrated in the hotel’s character.”
Hyatt launched the Andaz brand in London in 2007, and currently has around 20 properties either open or under development across North and Latin America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Earlier this year the group announced plans for the first Andaz property in South Korea, located in the Apgujeong district of Seoul.
