Airbus has unveiled the first “sea turtle” livery on the exterior of ANA’s A380 superjumbo aircraft.
The Japanese carrier first announced plans for the special livery in 2017, with the aircraft set to operate on flights to Honolulu from May 2019.
The sea turtle, or “Honu” is a symbol of good luck and prosperity in Hawaii, and the livery will appear in three different colours on ANA’s fleet of superjumbos.
ANA’s A380s will feature a four-class economy, premium economy, business class and first class layout, with eight new first class suites in a 1-2-1 configuration and featuring sliding privacy doors.
Premium passengers will also get exclusive amenities including bedding, loungewear and amenity kits, and first class passengers will be served meals developed by the staff of Italian restaurant Noe at the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina.
